Cinquain Poem

This morning, I wrote my first Cinquain Poem. A Cinquain Poem is made up of 5 lines. The first line is the Title. The 2nd line is 2 describing words about the title. The 3rd line is 3 doing words about the title. The 4th line is 4 feeling words and the last line is 1 word that relates to the title. I wrote 3 but this one was my favorite so I put the poem onto Tux Paint and I drew some lollies. I hope you like it!

My Operation

2 weeks ago, I had an operation. During that operation, I got my tonsils and adenoids out. Tonsils are the things at the back of your throat and adenoids are the things at the back of your nose.

When I went to Hospital, I had to wait for a long time and just when I was about to operate, the nurses told Mum and I that I was getting my tonsils and my adenoids out and that I had to stay off school for a week and a half. I didn't know that I was also going to have my adenoids out. I didn't want to have my adenoids out because earlier this year, a doctor told me that if I had my adenoids out that I would bleed. But I had to, so I did.

After the operation, I was feeling so tired and weak that I could hardly talk and move. The nurse took me to a room and left me there to sleep and recover. I sleep for about a hour and then I woke up and ate an ice-block. After that, I fell back asleep. For the next 4 hours, I just went to sleep, woke up again and then went back to sleep again until it was time to go home.

For the next 4 days, I was feeling really sick and yuck. I didn't get up unless I was going to the toilet and I didn't want to eat any food because it made me feel sick. Luckily on Sunday, I was feeling much better and I hardly felt any pain. The bad thing was that even though I was feeling better, the Hospital still wanted me to stay home from school.

By Wednesday, I was really bored and all I wanted to do was go to school and do something other than just sitting at home. In the weekend, I was happy because I wasn't bored because I had my brother and sisters to play with.

Today, when I came to school again, I was feeling really happy because I wasn't stuck at home doing nothing and I didn't feel sick at all.

This past week, Room 3 has been learning about Rio de Janeiro. Before I did this presentation, I didn't know anything about it, but after researching I think that I knew a lot more about Rio de Janeiro. Take a look and see what I learnt!
